Collections
As an expert educational and research library for Arts, the ASFA library policy is to primarily focus on the evolution of its collections at an academic and research level and to secondarily create a highly informative environment, where expanding the quest for knowledge will not only take place at an academic level but also at a broader community level. In addition, due to the long-lasting and exclusive contribution of the ASFA to the higher education for Visual Arts right until 1984, the library is committed to undertake the responsibility of documenting the works of Modern Greek art.

Special Collection

The special collection consists of rare and valuable information material such as:

  1. 19th century art journals
  2. Christian Zervos “Cahiers d’art” journal
  3. The 12 volume work consisting of the archeological surveys from Egypt and Ethiopia: «Denkmaeler aus Aegypten und Aethiopien: nach den zeichnungen der von Seiner Majestat dem koenge von Preussen Friedrich Wilhelm IV nach diesen Landern Gesendeten und in den Jahren 1842-1845 auusgefuhrten wissenschaftlichen Expedition / herausgegeben und erlautert von C. R. LepsiusBerlin :Nicolaische , [1849-56]
  4. Engravings from the Louvre Museum
  5. Engravings from G. Kefallinos and his students
  6. Books of artists including prototype work
  7. The historical collection of the library temporally extending from 1763 till 1930, etc.

ASFA Historical Archive Collection

The Historical Archive Collection includes class registers, school proceedings of the Administrative Body, several administrative documents and photos dating till 1975.

Collections are open to public, with the exception of the special collection, part of the audiovisual collection and the Historical Archive Collection. A written application is required in order to access the Historical Archive Collection, whereas access of the remaining two collections is only possible via staff intervention.
